Kitchen Compost Bin Ideas
Before you start composting, it would be ideal to learn the basics of wormless composting first!
Look for an airtight container to start your composting experiment. Put in some dirt at the bottom, and then shredded newspaper on top on that. Then, begin adding your organic kitchen scraps – carrot peels, eggshells, coffee grounds, tea leaves, etc. There are a few things you must take care NOT to add in – like meat, bones, etc.
The indoor compost bin requires even more attention than the outdoor bin. Make sure you are mixing the contents regularly, keeping track of the time, and making sure the brown stuff and green stuff are balanced. Not sure what the heck I’m talking about? Head to this article first!

Our municipal compost collectors give out a free bin with the large compost can. It looks almost identical to the Composter Kitchen Organic Bin here. I line mine with brown paper or newspaper instead of the green bags though. One less thing to buy and keeps it just as clean.
Yes! Lining with newspaper is perfect – I do it too with my bin. (And your collector gives out such good lookin’ bins?XD That’s great!)
Thanks for stopping by!:)
Amazing article. Thanks for sharing this information. If we use biodegradable bin bags for waste collection in kitchen and garden then we should save our environment from plastic waste.
